JOTA (Jamboree On The Air) and JOTI (Jamboree On The Internet) is an annual event where Scouts and Guides all over the world communicate with each other and participate in activities with a communications theme.
The Western Vic JOTA/JOTI is Western Victoria's largest annual Scout camp and is all about meeting other Scouts - be that over the radio in a different state or country, over the internet on a Scout chat server, or face to face with that group 200km down the road who you may have never heard of before.
We are planning on hosting an amateur radio training and assessment weekend with the Scout Radio and Electronics Service Unit (SRESU) over the weekend of Friday 16th to Sunday 18th August.
Become more than a Passenger on the airwaves. Have you ever wanted to learn a little more about Amateur (Ham) Radio but have been unsure where to start?
With a little pre-reading of the training book and attending the 1.5 day course you will know if you are ready to achieve your first Amateur Radio Licence.
This training is ideal as a Venturer Pursuit activity.
Course includes colour training book, a weekend of theory and practice, catering, and the option to sit the assessment at conclusion of the course.
Expressions of interest now being taken!
Please contact Andy King (firstname.lastname@example.org) to express your interest and we'll be in touch.
Thank you to all Scouts, leaders, parents, helpers and visitors who joined us for Western Vic JOTA/JOTI 2018 at Cooinda Burrong over the weekend of Friday 19th to Sunday 21st October. We hope you all had a great weekend.
